Main Scripture: Hebrews 6:1–3

Getting growth isn’t a suggestion in the Christian walk but rather a requirement to be fulfilled. Hebrews 6:1-3 exhorts us to cast away the basic teachings and mature. That means all in your life—the way you think, your habits, attitudes, love, and spiritual discipline—must advance.

Is Your Life Moving?

Everything about your life must move forward. If you’re not growing, something is wrong. You need to ask yourself, why am I not progressing?
God isn’t focused on who you were in the past; He’s looking at who you are today.

Some believers remain stuck at the starting point year after year. They only “eat” spiritually when there’s a need to move, but true spiritual hunger doesn’t wait for a reasonit’s constant. Why would God pour out His anointing on someone unwilling to be used by Him?

The Journey Through the Tabernacle

Let’s take a deeper look at your spiritual journey through the tabernacle, the dwelling place of God:

  1. Outer Court – The yard. This is where many stay. They pray for five minutes, lack joy, and rarely press in.
  2. Inner Court – The first room in the tent. A place of greater awareness, obedience, and discipline.
  3. Holy of Holies – Where God Himself dwells. This is where transformation happens—where prayer becomes automatic and love becomes unconditional.

Each phase has deep meaning. The deeper you go, the closer you get to God. You can’t skip stages; spiritual maturity is a process—not a performance.

You Must Move—But Through Process

Growth requires sacrifice. If you want to move from one level to the next, you must pay a price.

  • In the first stage, you’re learning to pray and obey. You’re battling anger, learning to forgive.
  • In the second stage, you begin to feel God’s anointing; you read and seek wisdom, but your love may still be conditional.
  • In the third stage, you become the bookyou don’t just study the Word; you live it. You love and forgive even when it’s not returned. You pray for your enemies. You prophesy. You lead.

This is not about age—this is about maturity. Moving is not jumping. Jumping skips training. And when you skip the process, you’re not equipped—you’re pretending to be something you haven’t yet become.

You Need Preparation

In the outer court, preparation begins. You learn the basics: prayer, giving, repentance, and obedience. It represents the foundational doctrine of Christian life. But preparation without movement creates churches with disorder—like the Corinthians—immature, chaotic, and emotionally driven.

God desires order, growth, and depth. And moving forward is not optional—it’s mandatory.

Final Thought

You have the opportunity to grow, mature, and move forward. But if you behave like a child when God gives you a chance, you delay your destiny. When your leader trusts you, respond with maturity. Complete your training. Become who God has called you to be—not just someone who looks like it.
