Guidelines and Effects of Fasting

You know what’s impossible with man is possible with God.

Fasting is an inner practice that leads to outward change. 

Whenever anybody fasts ,God watches it. You must know that God is watching over you. God always honours the action of your faith. 

Fasting is the action of faith. 

Fasting is done to know God’s will

Fasting is for a breakthrough.

 Reasons for fast : 

• It brings you closer to God. You become thirsty and hungry for God. 
• All the hunger for outside world will end. 
• You will cry in 21 days. You will say, Holy Spirit I was missing you. You will become humble.
• You will have spiritual breakthrough.

Some changes will come

1. You will be free from sin. 
2. You will have revival. Your prayer will become firey.
3. When you pray, healings, repentance will take place.
4. Fasting will help you to have godly wisdom and godly guidance.
5. Special needs will be met. 
6. You will be out of sickness, challenges.
7. God will work in the church and leaders. 
8. If you don’t pray in fast then it’s a hunger strike not fast. 
9. Take fast from anger, irritation , social websites like what’s app, FB and Instagram. 
10. take fast from talking too much and shopping.

 Kinds of fast :

1. No food no water- extreme fast only for 3 days. Moses had this fast for 40 days and he was in the presence of God. 
2. Liquid fast- Daniel did. Normal food. No non veg food. 
3. Esther kept fast for 3 days to see the victory. 

Fast for victory, revelation. 

Fasting is done to know God’s will.

Fasting gets God’s attention 

Fasting causes supernatural intervention. You will see supernatural blessings.

Expect satanic resistance in your fasting

Fast with purpose not casually.

Acts 13: 1-3 

1. Fasting needs to be accompanied with something. Verse 2:- this doesn’t say while they were fasting , it says while they were worshipping and fasting. 

Fasting is connected with worship. 

2. Fasting places us in a proper position to hear God:- if God is not talking in that particular matter then in fasting, definitely, you will hear from him. Don’t fast from food but all the distractions. 

Your ears become active to hear God. 

3. Fasting consecrates us to the lord:- if you have done any sin , this is a right time for you to consecrate yourself. Set apart for me-  Barnabas and Saul . God says consecrate yourself for me. 

He will set you apart from other people. 

The Holy Spirit will give a word to the pastor that this man has changed and set him apart for me. 

4. Fasting prepares us for what God has in store for us:- God says set yourself apart for that work for what you are called.
