Proverbs 29:18, Habakkuk 2:2-3
We lead an ordinary life, taking care of relationships and family. However, when we lack vision, we simply enjoy life and the world without direction. It is through receiving a vision from God that we transition from ordinary to extraordinary.
The Power of Vision
Remember your old life—before coming to church, you spent time watching movies, listening to the radio, and engaging in activities to fill the emptiness. But now, because of vision, you pray, worship, and read the Bible. Vision gives you a purpose to live.
Mary was a simple girl, but when the angel Gabriel appeared to her and said, “Rejoice! I bring a vision to you—you will conceive and give birth to a Son, and His name will be Emmanuel,” her life changed. Vision identifies you and makes you unique among people.
She asked how it would happen, and the angel said, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you.“ Similarly, Moses’ life changed when he received the vision on Mount Sinai.
Vision Brings Focus
A vision provides a clear direction from the Lord. It gives you purpose. We remember names like Paul and Moses because of the vision they carried.
God made Paul blind to give him a vision. When you receive a vision, you become blind to worldly distractions.
For three days, Paul could not see or interact with anyone—God was implanting a vision in him.
Without vision, you remain ordinary. Because of vision:
- Jacob became Israel
- Sarai became Sarah
- Abram became Abraham
- Saul became Paul
Vision is Constant
A true vision does not change based on circumstances, people, or desires. Moses lived for one vision. Esther was called to be a queen for a purpose. Vision remains despite greed, relationships, or situations.
- You do not marry just anyone; God aligns people with your vision.
- Greed for money, opportunities, or status can alter your vision.
- Some will tempt you to abandon your calling—do not fall into such traps.
- Do not sell your vision for worldly gains.
A person without vision is directionless, like a donkey wandering without purpose.
The Danger of Losing Vision
God has called you for a specific purpose. If you do not walk in your vision, you will be ineffective.
- Satan tempts those without vision with worldly attractions.
- Spiritually blind people engage in anything because they lack direction.
- Judas Iscariot sold his vision for 30 silver coins.
- Balaam was tempted with wealth to curse Israel.
- Simon the sorcerer thought the vision could be bought with money.
When Satan offers you a deal to abandon your vision—reject it.
God is Saving the Vision in You
God is not just saving you—He is preserving the vision within you. If you are saved, others will be saved through you.
- Jonah was saved, but more importantly, the vision to save Nineveh was preserved.
- Losing vision leads to:
- Prayers without passion
- Church attendance without purpose
Wives should not live only for their husbands but for the vision their family carries. Leaders must not be lazy or distracted by the world. Ordinary people—housewives, shopkeepers, plumbers, businessmen—when filled with the Spirit, their lives become a testimony of vision.
Living with Vision
God does not oppose your job or business, but you must have a vision. Without vision, everything—including peace and finances—perishes.
- Vision fuels passion in your prayer life.
- With vision, no one needs to force you to come to church.
- “Write the vision”—the Lord commands.
- Vision keeps you organized, focused, and purposeful.
Signs of a Life Without Vision
People without vision are:
- Unfocused, disorganized, and lazy
- Time-wasters and deceivers
- Walking toward destruction
- Resistant to correction and discipline
- Living without obedience
A liar may be living, but he is not moving forward in God’s plan. A prayerless person is alive but spiritually stagnant.
When you lose vision, you try to fill the emptiness with distractions.
What Fits in Your Vision?
Living an extraordinary life requires vision. Without it, you become ordinary.
- Vision changes your direction and destiny.
- Biblical figures received their vision before they started ministry:
- Mary
- Paul
- Peter
- Vision provides a clear direction from the Lord.
- Do not let distractions pull you away from your God-given vision.
If you do not write your vision, you will wander aimlessly. A lack of spiritual anointing often indicates a deviation from your vision.
Are You on the Right Path?
- Are you praying but still watching ungodly content?
- Are you fasting but keeping the wrong company?
- Are you serving God while living in sin?
Your vision determines your path. Vision means spiritual sight—without it, you stumble in darkness.
Biblical Examples of Vision-Driven Lives
- Paul once persecuted believers but later preached the Gospel.
- Joshua and Caleb entered the Promised Land because of their vision.
- Others perished because they failed to embrace God’s vision.
Final Call: Save the Vision and Walk with Passion
If you feel lost, return to the vision God gave you.
- Your pastor may correct you because he sees the vision fading in you.
- Your family may struggle because of your lack of vision.
- Renew your vision and see things through God’s eyes.
Vision is the key to fulfilling God’s purpose for your life. When you embrace it, your life transforms. Stay focused, stay passionate, and never lose sight of the calling God has placed within you.
God bless you abundantly!
