I've never really been to a church. Will I stand out?
No. People arrive in jeans and in salwar kameez, on foot and on scooters. Sit wherever you like, the back is fine. Nobody will make you stand up or introduce yourself.
What actually happens?
Singing for about half an hour. A message from the Bible for about forty minutes. Then prayer, and people stay behind to talk. Reckon on an hour and a half, and nobody minds if you slip out early. See a Sunday step by step.
Which service will I understand?
The 9:00 AM is in English. The 10:00 AM moves between Hindi and English, so you can follow it either way. In Chandigarh at 4:00 we do the same. Times and directions.
What about my children?
LOWC Kids runs during the Sunday services, with our own volunteers. You sign your child in and you are the only person who can sign them out. You are welcome to stay with them the first time. About LOWC Kids.
Will I be asked for money?
Tithes and offerings are received during the service, that is how the church is funded, and our members give willingly. Visitors are not expected to give, and nobody is watching who does. Nothing here, prayer, help, welcome, has ever depended on it. How giving works.
How do I actually get to know people?
Stay for lunch. After the 10:00 AM service the church eats together, and that is where it happens. When you are ready, a Bible study group meets midweek near you, in Hindi or English. Bible study groups.

A message from the pastor
You are welcome here, whoever you are.
If you have never been inside a church, or it has been a long time, I want you to know something before you come: nobody here will make you stand up, single you out, or ask you to change anything. Come and sit at the back. Listen. Leave when you like.
In 2011 a handful of us began meeting in Chandigarh to pray. Everything you see now grew out of that room. We are still the same church: ordinary people, from every background, who have found in Jesus a hope worth telling others about, plainly and without pressure.
Every Sunday I teach from the Bible, in Hindi and in English, and I try to say only what I would say to my own family. If you come, find me after the service. I would like to know your name.
